Copped it a few months ago and been bumpin it ever since. And I'm having a BBQ this Sunday which will no doubt turn into a house party justtt coz I wanna blast this track. YES, I'm sick of the club, Yes, I miss house parties..so you know Ima get it bumpin this Sunday, haha..mad sunshine, good food and a lotta Tanqueray, my shiiit.

That's right!!!

Say it again and say it loudly..we RUN SHIT when it comes to Rugby or Rugby League!! And YES...FINALLY WE KICKED SOME AUSSIE ASSSSSSS and thrashed the mafuckers last night in the World Cup Final...considering we got eaten alive last year almost 50-nil or something, I am savouring this moment right now. And as for that haka..ohhhh shiiiiiit, was some spine tingling stuff right there, yeah the Australians BEST know to make a quick exit after being all staunch and walking up to "take up the challenge"..the sight of Benji Marshall (No.6 for all you non Southern Hemisphere residing folk) lookin the Aussie side Kiwi (aka hori) in the face is classic, esp considering he earns about $5 million a year off the Australians.ahahaha.

Shuddering at the memory of myself having the exact accent of the commentator back in the day....errrrr

Oh good lord..

The Alchemist is backkkkkk. Alcky (as I like to call him, lmao) is hands down one of my fave producers of all time, I don't understand why people don't rate him more, I'm officially stumped! Obama, Obama, Obama, Obama

Even though I'm not American, this is truly goin down as a historic day in my lifetime. Have an exam tomorrow but was glued to the computer all fuckin day streaming that shit live, was incredible. 5pm NZ time, the announcement came and I screamed, and screamed, got a phone call from Sopie' and screamed some more then heard her crying her eyes out. The beginning of change for the whole damn world has begun, if you live outside the US, you can truly appreciate how intricate and interdependent our international relationships are, the US dicatates every facet of my lil country's existence, therefore I thank America for voting change, you have no idea the profound effect your decision will have on the world to come, for real, THANK YOU...ESP CALIFORNIA...CHEEEYAAHHH!

My Official "Slept On" list for 08

My "wtf...they aint blown up yet" list for 2008..

GOD...I've been dreading this post as the more I search for new shit, the more I discover I know fuck all about this. I've been following the blog scene for just over a year now and have sort of found myself gravitating towards the same sorta artists e.g. Pac Div, Blu, U-N-I etc etc and listen to other artists that they either associate with or have heard on a track with them so I haven't really been "discovering" new shit lately, which is dry as that's why I turned to the internet in the first place. Well on the rare occasion that I did go hunting by myself I have found a artists that have dropped some of my favourite albums/mixtapes of the fuckin year! And here they are..

1. Outasight, y'all know I been obsessed with this one since my first blog. If you STILL haven't got it, here is the link to his critically acclaimed album, Radio New York.

2. Stalley- This one I was wayyyyy late on, by like 4 months!LOL. His Goin Ape mixtape is DOPE!! those beats are killa and his flow is smooth not to mention he aint a dumb fuck either, perfect combination. Don't sleep on this one!
Download: Stalley- Goin Ape Mixtape: Part 1 Part 2

3. Greg Enemy- I owe a lot to MySpace friend requests as a significant number of my favourites I have found through clicking "Accept", lol, Mr Enemy being no exception. His self titled, free EP is the shiiiit. I love that fusion sorta hiphop, I don't like comparing but to compare the beats, you could liken to XV, e.g. the I don't give a fuuuuck sorta beats but he is on his own shit for sure, which I love. He will be the next "Big Blog Favorite", and you can quote me on that! Not to mention I have a thing for guys with glasses..ANNNND I didn't even know this but Mr Enemy is behind all the beats!..wtff..y'all NEED TO HEAR Top 10, that is my jam.
Download: Greg Enemy- Greg Enemy EP

4. Mirage & Concept- This had to be one of the OMG one's of the year along with Mr Enemy. Good lord, where the fuck have these two been hiding?? The production is sooo smooth it aint funny, and Mirage's flow fits perfectly with every track, switching it up slightly every round. This is gonna be my ULTIMATE summer record, so for all you Southern Hemisphere peeps like myself, grab yourself a beer(...or 5!), hit the beach and wild out to this on the iPod, and the others...well jus pretend!
Download: Mirage & Concept- Long Days & Long Nights

P.S For those who aren't familiar with the fact that New Zealand resides usually a day ahead of everywhere else, the concept of their title Long Days & Long Nights refers to the fact that Concept (from my home, Auckland, NZ) would be workin all night where Mirage (from PA, USA) would be workin all day, yet at the same time.

That's it for now, this post has taken way to long to put together. I highly suggest you d/l all of these EP's or mixtapes, they're fuckin worth it.

Where's the Gin at??

Despite my intense love for gin, especially Tanqueray, I'm not talkin bout the get fucked up on a Sat night kind. This gin is of the sober kind. Gin Wigmore is the BADDEST bitch to come outta this lil country of mine in a while. Her voice is hella unique, some compare her to Macy Gray, but honestly, Macy don't have shit on Gin. And just for the fact that GIN is her name, I will buy every one of her albums till I die! She's just been signed and as you would expect the record heads have been eating outta her hand, so be prepared for her takeover...

I know it aint "hiphop" but you can't love music and not have an appreciation for this girl's voice..catchy as hell..{in the best Clinton Sparks impersonation}.."get familiarrr"

Gin Wigmore- Under My Skin

Note: No, that's not me in the picture, ALTHOUGH I would really like a bottle of that size.

Dope Shit: Last Week EP- Goonie Hodges & Truent

Hella slow on this, but my boy Haz shot this through to me a while ago. He's been hard at work on a project called Last Week, which I'm gonna let them explain for themselves. Myself and twin' were in fuckin fits over the Tuesday track. The leak series is already up to Thursday, don't worry, I'm gonna get on my game. DON'T SLEEP ON THIS SHIT!

Now don’t get me wrong, there ain’t nothing like a good old fashioned fatal stabbing or gruesome murder to help distract from the monotonous thrill lacking lump of shit that is life. And we all need a healthy helping of Home and Away once in a while when the only thing we have to look forward to is an afternoon shit. But who said music had be an episode of Law and Order or a Friday night out with Millie Holmes? Sure, I love a bit of Slick Rick as much as the next guy in an eye patch and I could listen to Nas talk about Queen’s Bridge till I gotta bite my ipod to get the battery working, but sometimes, just sometimes, when I’ve played Labcabincalifornia 3 times over on repeat and I’ve heard Necro rhyme crack pipe 17 different ways, all I wana do is chill out and listen to Q-Tip tell me bout the day he lost his wallet. Cause I can relate to that. I ain’t ever been to El Segundo, but I’ve filled out an application for a new eftpos card and that shit is frustrating.

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is. Sometimes life is boring. It just is. So when you’re listening to the new E.P from Home Brew, produced by Goonie Hodges and DJ Truent, (who both have never sold crack cocaine or served time in San Quentin for crimes against humanity, although Haz did get arrested that one time for pissing in public, but he pled diversion in the end and only got community service) don’t be mad if the beats don’t sound like your favourite wrestlers intro music or make you want to head but a bouncer. And don’t be pissed because the lyrics on the EP aren’t as exciting as the Legend of Zelda or the near death experience you had that time on your old best mates bmx. Just turn it up, grab a beer or a wine or whatever the fuck it is you prefer to drink, smoke, snort or shelve to take away from the normal boring reality that is your life and relax.

‘Last Week’ won’t give you the same adrenalin rush shop lifting will and it isn’t as exciting as that dude you know who named all his kids after xmen characters. It’s just a normal 7 track EP about the normal boring reality that is our life. 7 tracks we wrote last week about.. well.. last week. And really bro. That’s it.

Chur.

Introducing.....Coma-Chi

This is the exact reason why I love hiphop, can't understand a damn word she's sayin but I FEEL THE VIBE, lol. This gurl is on some other shit!! We all know I've been on my Jap shit lately, and I was yet to come across an emcee (I mainly listen to Japanese producers) let alone a female that I was really feelin. Well it happened and it comes in the form of a female emcee from Tokyo called Coma-Chi. She's got mad attitude and I love that in a chick! DON'T EVEN TELL ME YOU CAN'T VIBE TO THIS....

COMA-CHI- MICHIBATA

I have GOT to meet this girl one day, you can call me obsessed.

C-O-M-A C-H-I...yeeeeah, I'm honestly obsessed with her, she could rip up sooo many emcees with that flow..watch it TILL THE END.

Sene Interview

I read this interview as soon as it went up on RH and was hella impressed. Was yet to come across a really good in-depth Sene interview that focused soley on him. In my opinion, he is wayyy too slept on, whether people just associate him with Blu or whatever, fuck who knows, but Sene holds his own like nobody else's business. His sound is ahh, dope as fuuuck!. He needs to get his butt to Japan and do some Nujabes and Nomak collabo's, shit would be UNBELIEVABLE...

Shouts to Rhymehouse for the great interview. Read it here

Invincible she is..

If you aint up on this chick, then where the hell have you been??!! This is the only female emcee since Lauryn Hill where I've been like "huh?!, wtf". She's dope beyond belief!! So ill, I can't even describe. Straight outta Detroit, she has fans in Elzhi, Talib Kweli, Finale..the list goes on. Love her tone, smooth as hell, would probably need no layering on the tracks, her voice is fat anyway. In the words of Mr Sparks..GET FAMILIAR, lol.

My obsession with this young man's music intensifies with every new track he drops, its either Blu, C.R.A.C, J n J etc that is on repeat at least two hours a day. SEPT 23RD..you know what it is, cop that Johnson & Jonson album....even if you got the bootlegged version ok!

Go Exile, Go Exile, Go

It is rare to get some live shit up on Exile's page, well yesterday was my lucky day, he uploaded a live track of him and Blu KILLING IT at the SOB's in NYC, sounds like it was a hella dope crowd. Exile is KILLIN it on the mpc and Blu is of course owning that mic. So I was like fuck it, I'll upload it to Zshare myself, I want everyone to hear this shit! Thought this was a pretty dope picture..

P.S The track they doing is Disco D.Y.N.A.M.I.T.E off the 2DB Cadillac Mixtape..

Samurai Champloo..

is the baddest mafuckin anime cartoon out!! Lupin the 3rd is close but for the music alone,Champloo owns this.Despite it having the dopest storylines out, the soundtrack to go along with it is unbelievable and I have this to thank for introducing me to the incredibly dope Jap hiphop scene a few years ago, so I am now spending this Sunday afternoon reacquainting myself with Samurai Champloo.

How's this for an opening sequence to a cartoon..
