Black Element interview

I must admit I continued to sleep on this guy even when he was getting love left, right and centre on the blogs. I finally snapped out of it when I gave in and downloaded the Missing Elements shit and ensued to eat my words.lol. Just spotted this dope interview over at one of my favourite spots, Rhymehouse, props to RM London for always bringing good shit to the table in his interviews.

Black Element interview

R.Les back in the studio..

Everyone's favourite geek is back in the studio re-working some tracks for the album which is due to drop sometime in Feb. The reason? In his own words..

For everyone that's been asking, I'll be releasing the album in February. The main reason why it's been pushed back is very simple: I need more exposure! The two singles that I have released have been very well received. "Addiction" has been my biggest one - it's the first to have broken 1M plays on my myspace page and the 'making of' video has over 800K views... Despite this, I have yet to cross over onto the top songs on Billboard's Hot 100 chart!

The additional time will allow me to present another music video (maybe two - I'm fronting the cost) and continue making a few stops around the country and abroad with my band campaigning for my artistry! It also gives you more time to introduce me to your friends and family (and your local radio station).

The Mighty Underdogs in Australia

Man, never thought I would see a crowd like this in Aussie, they are movin on up, lol. Anyway on the back of The Mighty Underdogs releasing their (so I've heard, hella dope) new album Droppin Science, they went on tour Down Under and carved shit up. I can't even remember why I couldn't make it out a few weeks back when they were here in NZ but after this lil clip, I regret it even more.

Q-Tip- Move

Y'all know I'm still bumpin Gettin Up on the daily, and now Tip has dropped his second video from his upcoming album The Renaissaince (dropping NOV 4). I love A Tribe called Quest and therefore, anything this man touches I will support. That shit that went down with BET, urghhh made me sick, watf??!! Fuck 106 & Park who wants to look at Rocsi's slutty ass anyway. I know people love Q-Tip but I still think he unbelievably underrated, if not as an emcee definitely as a producer. He was behind most Tribe beats, produced one of my fave joints on Illmatic, the list can go on. Anyway, here's the new video

Pac Div interview with Crack Distributors

Last Week EP: Catchup Sessions...

Last Week EP: Tuesday (funniest shit everrr)

Last Week EP: Wednesday

Last Week EP: Thursday

Dope Shit: Last Week EP- Goonie Hodges & Truent

Hella slow on this, but my boy Haz shot this through to me a while ago. He's been hard at work on a project called Last Week, which I'm gonna let them explain for themselves. Myself and twin' were in fuckin fits over the Tuesday track. The leak series is already up to Thursday, don't worry, I'm gonna get on my game. DON'T SLEEP ON THIS SHIT!

Now don’t get me wrong, there ain’t nothing like a good old fashioned fatal stabbing or gruesome murder to help distract from the monotonous thrill lacking lump of shit that is life. And we all need a healthy helping of Home and Away once in a while when the only thing we have to look forward to is an afternoon shit. But who said music had be an episode of Law and Order or a Friday night out with Millie Holmes? Sure, I love a bit of Slick Rick as much as the next guy in an eye patch and I could listen to Nas talk about Queen’s Bridge till I gotta bite my ipod to get the battery working, but sometimes, just sometimes, when I’ve played Labcabincalifornia 3 times over on repeat and I’ve heard Necro rhyme crack pipe 17 different ways, all I wana do is chill out and listen to Q-Tip tell me bout the day he lost his wallet. Cause I can relate to that. I ain’t ever been to El Segundo, but I’ve filled out an application for a new eftpos card and that shit is frustrating.

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is. Sometimes life is boring. It just is. So when you’re listening to the new E.P from Home Brew, produced by Goonie Hodges and DJ Truent, (who both have never sold crack cocaine or served time in San Quentin for crimes against humanity, although Haz did get arrested that one time for pissing in public, but he pled diversion in the end and only got community service) don’t be mad if the beats don’t sound like your favourite wrestlers intro music or make you want to head but a bouncer. And don’t be pissed because the lyrics on the EP aren’t as exciting as the Legend of Zelda or the near death experience you had that time on your old best mates bmx. Just turn it up, grab a beer or a wine or whatever the fuck it is you prefer to drink, smoke, snort or shelve to take away from the normal boring reality that is your life and relax.

‘Last Week’ won’t give you the same adrenalin rush shop lifting will and it isn’t as exciting as that dude you know who named all his kids after xmen characters. It’s just a normal 7 track EP about the normal boring reality that is our life. 7 tracks we wrote last week about.. well.. last week. And really bro. That’s it.

Chur.

Haz & Tom.
