If Sene aint gonna blow the hell up in 2009..

then please, shoot me now, cos it´s a damn crime against nature if he continues to be slept on. Yet another collabo between Sene and Erik L (who is a damn beast by the way, Lose Control EP?? uhh yes, nothing more needs to be said). This may just take over Take off The Blues by The Foreign Exchange as No.1 track to be on repeat.

Sene is well beyond his years on this...well everything really, lmao.

Ooh Ooh

Was just over at RH and spotted a new track from Redman. OMG back in the day when I used to smoke a lot (lolll), I used to roll with my two guy mates that listened to Redman NON-STOP! I swear they thought they were Meth and Red themselves. Well they were over the day (blazed of course) and pissed me right off by watching Redman videos on Youtube for over 2 hourswhilst I was bored outta my brains and just hit the sack. Gotta love Redman. This song takes me back in the day when I was a lil shit, cruisin round the city wit some chrome 16 inch subs jammed into my boy's crappy Ford Laser..PICK IT UP, PICK IT UP...

We can take it all back to the register...

Listening to this song right now, one of my faves of all time, and no-one I know either knows this song let alone has a clue who the fuck the emcee is. Therefore if you know where this first verse is from, I think we are destined to be soulmates, LOLLL, seriously though, cos it basically means you're on the same page as me, and that's one rare occurrence. And DON'T GOOGLE IT..cheaters, lmfao.

Nujabes....

OMGG this video is something else! For anyone that follows the Jap hiphop scene, you will know just how much Nujabes run shit, this is one of my favourite tracks of theirs, and a fan went and made this unofficial video. At the expense of sounding all soppy, it really is quite emotional to watch, especially if you are a Nujabes fan, as this video really does capture the exact emotion that comes with listening to anything Nujabes, and therefore, has made me love this track EVEN MORE. it's Beautifully done and the fact that this is this guy's first attempt at making a video, makes it even more unbelievable.

watch and weep....like I did, lol.

My Official "Slept On" list for 08

My "wtf...they aint blown up yet" list for 2008..

GOD...I've been dreading this post as the more I search for new shit, the more I discover I know fuck all about this. I've been following the blog scene for just over a year now and have sort of found myself gravitating towards the same sorta artists e.g. Pac Div, Blu, U-N-I etc etc and listen to other artists that they either associate with or have heard on a track with them so I haven't really been "discovering" new shit lately, which is dry as that's why I turned to the internet in the first place. Well on the rare occasion that I did go hunting by myself I have found a artists that have dropped some of my favourite albums/mixtapes of the fuckin year! And here they are..

1. Outasight, y'all know I been obsessed with this one since my first blog. If you STILL haven't got it, here is the link to his critically acclaimed album, Radio New York.

2. Stalley- This one I was wayyyyy late on, by like 4 months!LOL. His Goin Ape mixtape is DOPE!! those beats are killa and his flow is smooth not to mention he aint a dumb fuck either, perfect combination. Don't sleep on this one!
Download: Stalley- Goin Ape Mixtape: Part 1 Part 2

3. Greg Enemy- I owe a lot to MySpace friend requests as a significant number of my favourites I have found through clicking "Accept", lol, Mr Enemy being no exception. His self titled, free EP is the shiiiit. I love that fusion sorta hiphop, I don't like comparing but to compare the beats, you could liken to XV, e.g. the I don't give a fuuuuck sorta beats but he is on his own shit for sure, which I love. He will be the next "Big Blog Favorite", and you can quote me on that! Not to mention I have a thing for guys with glasses..ANNNND I didn't even know this but Mr Enemy is behind all the beats!..wtff..y'all NEED TO HEAR Top 10, that is my jam.
Download: Greg Enemy- Greg Enemy EP

4. Mirage & Concept- This had to be one of the OMG one's of the year along with Mr Enemy. Good lord, where the fuck have these two been hiding?? The production is sooo smooth it aint funny, and Mirage's flow fits perfectly with every track, switching it up slightly every round. This is gonna be my ULTIMATE summer record, so for all you Southern Hemisphere peeps like myself, grab yourself a beer(...or 5!), hit the beach and wild out to this on the iPod, and the others...well jus pretend!
Download: Mirage & Concept- Long Days & Long Nights

P.S For those who aren't familiar with the fact that New Zealand resides usually a day ahead of everywhere else, the concept of their title Long Days & Long Nights refers to the fact that Concept (from my home, Auckland, NZ) would be workin all night where Mirage (from PA, USA) would be workin all day, yet at the same time.

That's it for now, this post has taken way to long to put together. I highly suggest you d/l all of these EP's or mixtapes, they're fuckin worth it.

Finally!! U-N-I- Soul Hop video

Yes, yes I know, HELLA SLOW on this, especially considering I've only been hounding U-N-I via Myspace and Hypebeast forums for months now for this video. BUT I have been up to my eyeballs in assignments not to mention trying to organise my flights, U.S visas n shit..urghh. Anyway, here's the long awaited video for Soul Hop off the DOPEST album Fried Chicken and Watermelon that dropped a few days ago

Classic shit...

This is one of those jams where you jus stop whatever you're doin and jus vibe to it..sooo fuckin infectious. I LOVE this track but the title has to belong to my BFF who takes the cup whenever it comes on ever since I can remember. I first heard this when I was 10 and got the Big Bad Mama single for my birthday (SHOT MUM!).

NOAH FEAT BLU- JUST RELAX

What I have playing right now..

I have sort of fallen off the RnB bandwagon as of late but this boy I will make exceptions for. Why this guy hasn't blown up yet is beyond me and the fact that he is HELLA FIIIINE just adds to my bewilderment. WTF is all I have to say.

Esty- Take Your Love Away

Outasight- Radio New York

For those who followed my old blog, you already know I'm obsessed with this one but I'm posting it again because I fuckin' can, lol! His album Radio New York has been out for a while now but is still on regular rotation on my iTunes. My personal favourites are Love & Confusion (prod by my boy D/Will), Runnin 08 and Another Late Night. Not to mention anyone that samples Bonnie Rait is hella cool in my books. This album is definitely worth some serious attention for those not already up on this!!

I love this guy more every time I listen to him, found his old album all dusty in my old music files and am giving it a spin as we speak, why did I ever take this off repeat?! Did a quick MySpace search and he bought out a remix album of Jay Z stuff way back in January.WTF?! and I missed this how?? For those who know of Hezekiah, you already know he runs this, and for those who don't.."get familiar".lol.

Delinquint Habits- Return of the Tres

In my hunt for a internship in Mexico today, I remembered how much I was obsessed with these guys back in the day, my favourite Mexicali's ever. Boulevard Star is probably my fave track of theirs followed closely by this one, Return of the Tres, that beat is infectious.
